Tuesday at The Biltmore

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!
This past Tuesday I went to see Bahamas and their opening band, Wake Owl, at The Biltmore. First of all, thanks to my friend Steph who gave me a ticket and thanks to The Peak for giving her tickets! I believe this was a sold out show. The venue was super crowded (but that makes it even more fun, right?) I think so..
I'm so glad I got to check out this show. I fell in love with Wake Owl (an indie folk band from Vancouver). If you want to check out their music: :)
The headliner was Bahamas. They were so great! I was familiar with some of their music and it was awesome to hear it live.
1&2: Steph and I at the concert. Hi!
3&4: Wake Owl
5,6,7,8: Bahamas
Hope you are having a great week!

This past Saturday, I had the chance to check out the Vancouver Fashion Blogger Clothing Sale at the Waldorf! I should have snapped a few more pics when I was there but I suppose I was distracted by all of the lovely clothing/shoes/accessories (I know. Excuses, excuses...)
I showed up to the sale about an hour after it had started. There were still a lot of clothes to look through and try on. This event was so much fun. Also it was great meeting a lot of the bloggers that I follow. If any of you are reading this post - Hi & nice meeting you!! :)
All in all, Saturday was a great afternoon. I hope for more fashion blogger clothing sales in the future!!
1 & 2. Outside the Waldorf.
3. Inside the Waldorf (this is the room that was used for the sale).
4. The clothes that I purchased!

Ring in Spring

Spring is almost here!
It doesn't quite feel like it.
But I am happy.
Translation of my haiku: Today was freezing!!! I did see the cherry blossoms starting to bloom though! I'm excited for the bright flowers and colours of spring.
I bought a few spring clothes!
1. Pants from H&M. Shoes from a store that was closing down.
2. The top half of the same pants from the first photo. (I know the colour looks different. Sorry bout that)! Shirt is one I've had since last year (I believe it is from Forever 21). Ring on my right hand from The Bay. Ring on my left hand from RW & Co.
3,4,5. Sheer tank from H&M. Bright blue shorts and black belt from H&M. I have had the blue ring for years and I believe it is (probably) from Aldo Accessories.
What are you excited to see for spring?

Wandering with Waffle Cones

Today started off with rain and then the afternoon turned into a beautiful blue sky kind of day. It was windy but the wind was warm. Today was so beautiful that it reminded me of summer. Then summer reminded me of ice cream. Finally, ice cream reminded me of how much I love going to La Casa Gelato on Venables. So I thought I would share a few photos from that day...
The first two photos are pretty much self-explanatory! The third one is of the little seating area across from the ice cream shop!
I can't seem to remember what flavours my friend and I had that day. La Casa Gelato has (what seems like) a bazzilion flavours so it is hard to keep track (which is a good thing when it comes to ice cream I would say!) I just looked at their website actually and it says that they always have 218 flavours on site. Their "flavour counter" is at 518. Anyways, I love this place and I just wanted to share!! I'm looking forward to going back on a warm summer day or a rainy spring day or.. any day. haha.

Recent-ish Concert

Hey everyone! How was your weekend and your Monday?
So a couple of weeks ago on a very windy and cold day (actually it happened to be the same day as the photo scavenger hunt - see my last blog post) my friend and I went to Performance Works on Granville Island for a concert. This was my first time there and I really liked the venue! There were seats set up along the sides of the building and then standing room in the middle. We decided to stand side-stage to get a closer view.
Oh yes, I suppose I should mention who was performing:
The Belle Game
Aidan Knight
The Belle Game started off the evening (first photo above). This band is so talented and entertaining! They really have a beautiful sound. I first saw them at the Celebrate Vancouver 125 show in Stanley Park last summer, and then again this past December at Sing it Forward which was an evening of acoustic music to benefit the St. James Music Academy. I suggest that you check them out!
and... the next four photos are of Aidan Knight...
Those of you that know what bands I like... know that I am a big Aidan Knight fan! I have seen the man and his band perform at many local venues around Vancouver and it is always a great time. If you aren't familiar with his music.. you should check it out! I love every song on his album Versicolour, from the slower "Knitting Something Nice For You" to the more upbeat "Jasper" and everything in between. If you want to hear a beautiful new song, I suggest "Margaret Downe". Actually, I found the link:
On another note, I also enjoy Aidan's stage banter. haha.
Anyone been to any good concerts lately? Please share!
Have a great week!

Saturday Scavengers

A couple of weekends ago, my friend and I set out on a scavenger hunt. The event was put on by (check it out if you haven't already!!).
My friend and I picked up a list of items to photograph. We had so much fun! I would love to do things like this more often!
Above are some parts of the city (Vancouver, BC) captured in photos. These are only a few of the pictures I entered into the contest. We were asked to take snapshots near the Canada Line. Here are the descriptions of the pics above:
1. Water - This photo was taken at one of the many Water Ferry Stops in False Creek.
2. Tree - This tree pic was taken in Richmond, just off of the Bridgeport Station. The bridge in the background is the Arthur Laing Bridge.
3. Someone eating - My friend eating a chocolate espresso muffin from Whole Foods. Yum. I think I already posted this photo in my last blog post, but the purpose of this pic was for the contest.
4. Shoes - My shoes on the edge of a boat dock in Yaletown.
5. Public art - One of the many interesting art pieces in Vancouver. This photo was taken near the Olympic Village Station close to False Creek.
6. Plane - A plane going in for landing at sunset (over the Arthur Laing Bridge in Richmond).
7. Clouds/The sky - Beautiful blue sky and the silhouette of the trees in Vancouver.
8. Something you wish you owned - A rowboat at False Creek. I think it would be so nice to have a little rowboat to take out once in a while!
Let me know if you have any questions about any of the pics! Thanks for reading! Have a great day.
